School Organisation
St. Mary’s the Mount School is a co-educational one-form entry Catholic Voluntary Aided School for children aged between 3 and 11 years. It is in the Archdiocese of Birmingham and works in partnership with Walsall Children's Services.
The Nursery caters for children of 3-4 years on a part-time basis. Admission to the Nursery does not secure a place in Reception Class. A separate application is required for consideration by the Governing Body against the Admission Criteria.
Children of Reception Class age through to Year 6 are catered for in the Main School. Entrance to Reception Class is through a co-ordinated admission scheme run by the Local Authority. Applications for other year groups are dealt with directly by the school.

School Entrance
Gates to the school will be unlocked at 8.40am. Reception and KS1 should enter and leave school through the gate nearest to Mandeville Gardens and for safety reasons they should never enter or leave via the car park.
KS2 enter by the gate next to the Nursery entrance.
Parents of Nursery children access the Nursery through a separate gate.
Parents and visitors should use the main entrance and report to the School Office at the glass hatch in the foyer. The office staff deal with queries. Visitors to the school are always asked to sign in, show their identification and DBS Clearance. Visitors are met at the ‘buzzered’ front door and accompanied to the member of staff expecting them.
